The NASA certified Outlast Snuggle Bag from Pushchairs.co.uk
For those of you coming into the colder months, if you don’t have a stroller bag or fleece you may already be tiring of putting on and removing three layers of clothing each time you step outdoors and return. And you know how much babies love to get in and out of clothing. About as much as a cat likes to be bathed.
So I can highly recommend investing in a stroller bag/buggy sleeping bag/footmuff/pram-thingy-that-goes-by-infinite-names. You’ll avoid the whole layering trauma and keep your baby warm and comfortable for each outing. They have places for the safety straps to go through so they stay in place and keep your baby in place too. So what are the options? Naturally they range from expensive to more affordable.
You’ll probably find that your pram/buggy/stroller will sell some form of fleece as an accessory to the pram. However, we’ve found there are often better options and I’ve put together some suggestions ranging from more expensive to reasonable, but all of them, in my opinion, good value.
Starting from the most expensive of the recommendations, Kate invested in, and vouches for, the Kaiser sheepskin footmuff. Which you can buy online here at Baby2childhood for 149 £. Kate and her London based friends rave about it – they say it’s excellent quality and good value. And let’s face it, they know about having to keeping warm.
Greenbaby has a another sheepskin buggy bag option (well two, one with a cotton outer and one with waterproof) that are very similar for a slightly lower cost at 95 £. You can see them on this page.
After throwing himself wholeheartedly into researching this product area, The Spaniard was smitten with the Outlast Snuggle Bag available from Pushchairs.co.uk, mostly, possibly entirely, because they use material with certified space technology. This certification, the product information explained, is a NASA initiative. Nothing makes a man want to purchase anything more than the word NASA and the unconscious belief that, somehow, buying the product in question may somehow bring him just a little bit closer to being an astronaut. You can find these here at pushchairs.co.uk for 65 £.
But actually what I went with in the end was the Snuggle Bag (IE without the “outlast”) because you can buy a mini and a large, and pushchairs.co.uk had a deal for both at the time. The deal has finished but you can still buy them at a very good value price, 54£ for the standard size and 36 £ for the mini snuggle. We (The Spaniard and I) have purchased almost all of our baby supplies from www.pushchairs .co.uk, because they always have competitive prices and we’ve found them to be super helpful and responsive. So while I’m at it I can recommend that site for your baby equipment needs in general.
In summary, my extensive research has found the following to be amongst, if not the, best in pram/buggy warmer bags (yes I use a different name every time, it’s because I’m creative, I can’t help it) at various price points. Feel free to add your recommendations in the comments:
Kaiser Sheepskin Footmuff 149 £
Green Baby sheepskin stroller bag, in cotton or waterproof 95 £
Snuggle Bag 54 £ and Mini Snuggle Bag 36£ from pushchairs.co.uk
